The Pratigya franchise began in 1975 with the movie Pratiggya, directed by Dulal Guha. The movie tells the story of Ajit Singh (Dharmendra), an illiterate truck driver who learns from his dying adoptive mother that he is the only surviving son of an honest cop who was killed by the dreaded dacoit Bharat Thakur (Ajit). He swears revenge and poses as a cop in a village where Bharat Thakur operates. He falls in love with Radha (Hema Malini), who is Bharat Thakur's niece but hates his ways. Pratigya Movie 5 is the fifth and final movie in the franchise. It is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharmendra. The movie follows Ajit Singh and Radha as they face their biggest challenge yet: Bharat Thakur's son, Vikram Thakur (Vidyut Jammwal), who has inherited his father's empire and wants to take revenge on Ajit Singh for killing his father. Vikram Thakur kidnaps Radha and threatens to kill her unless Ajit Singh surrenders himself.
